Decent "old school" spot for breakfast. Cozy, super FAST service, and you'll feel like you just stepped into "grandma's kitchen" or possibly some breakfast version of Cheers!!, where just about everyone really DOES know your name!!
We've been here twice recently, after driving past it dozens of times and thinking, "Heck, we should try that place!!" I'm all for a good, comfort food breakfast every now and then, including their great carafe of coffee for just $1.59/per person, eggs just about any way you want 'em, YUMMY, seasonal pumpkin pancakes, waffles (only on weekends, waaaaaaaa!!!) and just about the LARGEST and best-looking cut of steak I've seen served with steak and eggs!!
Now, for me, this is a great local stop for breakfast... Would I go out of my way for their "all American," stick your ribs, country style lunch and dinner choices (including Sunday's all you can eat fried chicken)? Naaaaah, probably not. I'm sure it's ok, but for me, this is strictly a breakfast stop. Nothing wrong with what they offer the rest of the day, but I'll take "grandma's" breakfast here any day of the week!! Now... Get those elbows OFF the table!!! -

My wife and I enjoyed coming to this restaurant. We've now been here for breakfast and dinner. The food here isn't expensive, and the quality is pretty good.
For breakfast, we had the veggie omelette and the sausage gravy with biscuits. If your like omelette that are extremely cheesy, then these omelette are for you, because they are filled with cheese. You have a choice of toast or biscuits with your omelette. The sausage gravy and biscuits were really good, they serve a huge portion, which is great. We had a side of hash browns as well, which were good, but nothing to rave about.
For dinner, we had a cup of beef soup, a grilled chicken salad and breasted tenders with mash potatoes and green beans. The soup came out hot and had chunky potatoes, it was really good. The salad was good too, it had nice tender juicy grilled chicken on it. The tenders were really good to, we had to try them since we heard so much about the breasted chicken. The mash potatoes were really good and so was the gravy that came out on top.
When you come to this restaurant, make sure you have some cash for a tip, because you can't leave a tip on your credit card payment. -

This was a really fun place to start the day! Fancy this, we've lived minutes away for two years and had never dropped by until as fate would have it, we were moving away from the area. Go figure! One reason we had never stopped by was the reviews, coupled with my Husband's initial impression when we first moved here, when he merely stuck his head in the front door to look around and didn't think I'd like it. That was really too bad, because this place has a lot of charm in it's old fashioned simplicity.
I really enjoyed the interior! It was divey, clean, out of the ordinary, comfortable warm and humble all at once. Little touches here and there let you know someone, at one point or another, really loved this place. Freshly made bread greets you when you walk in on a little table, presumably part of the salad bar. Their salad bar has the most delightful looking features, including homemade sheet cakes and more. Quite charming, really.
We dined in for breakfast, and my family sampled their waffles and typical breakfasty fare, reporting it delightful. The waffles were nothing out of the ordinary, batter wise, but were very enjoyable or so I heard! I was really impressed that they served freshly made strawberry jam with their toast. I just really enjoyed the charm of it all, that, and our server was so very sweet. This place seems to take pride in hiring quality people, which I always appreciate and see as a good sign.
I highly encourage you to go check them out! Come expecting a taste of the past and you won't leave disappointed. -

The all u can eat Sunday chicken is a perennial after church favorite. Isn't it a little dark in here?

I really like this place. The food is good, atmosphere good and service is good. I love their daily specials. I just wish the salad bar was included with the entrees at no additional charge or a lowered charge. The
